How Are You Walking?

If we walk in the Spirit we will not fulfill the lusts of the flesh Gal 5:16

I want to share a story with you about a guy I used to work with named Chris. Brother Chris was old school. It was as though Christ was still living in the 70’s. What stood out about Chris was the way he talked and the way he walked. He talked out of the side of his mouth and he pimped when he walked. My colleagues, especially the women would ridicule Chris for the way he walked. I admired Chris simply because he was consistent with the way he walked and talked. He was the same way all the time, no matter the situation. You could say, Chris was known for his walk.

As Christians we should be known by our walk. Our Christian faith-walk should be consistent and it should be reflective of the one we are following—that is Jesus Christ. When our walk is not reflective of the Christ we follow, nor consistent, we run the risk of tripping others up in their walk who have not yet developed their spiritual footing. Our walk should look different than the way the world walks. There are a few characteristics that should be evident in our walk found in Galatians 5:22; love, joy, peace, long suffering, kindness, goodness, gentleness and self-control.

Let’s show the world that there is a different way to walk. Are you known by the way you walk with the Lord?
